The pop-up store concept
A temporary store, reinvented to test Africa before committing to it.
The Pop Up Store concept
Born in the USA in the 2000s, the pop-up store has since spread to Canada, England and France.
The idea is to build a temporary store (three days, a week, a month…) in a place with high commercial potential, unusual or unexpected. Goals vary: promoting a product, launching a new brand, testing a new concept or location, creating buzz. If it succeeds, the Pop Up Event can become a permanent store.
- Immediate and ephemeral, it sparks consumer curiosity: transience is a selling point.
- Unusual and surprising, it creates an event and attracts media attention.
- A dual purpose: profitability and communication.
