What is Africa Pop Up Store?

Africa Pop Up Store is a company based in Alfortville (France) that designs, deploys and runs pop-up stores, showrooms and corners in Africa. It lets luxury and premium brands test their products in real conditions before a permanent market entry: the “Test and Learn” approach.

What is a pop-up store?

A pop-up store is a point of sale open for a short period (from a few days to a few months) in a location with high commercial potential. Born in the United States in the 2000s, it is used to launch a brand, test a product or a market, and create buzz.

Which African cities do you operate in?

We support our clients in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Brazzaville (Republic of the Congo), Dakar (Senegal), Douala and Yaoundé (Cameroon), Kinshasa (DR Congo), Libreville (Gabon), Luanda (Angola) and Antananarivo (Madagascar).

Which brands are your pop-up stores for?

Luxury, premium or innovative brands considering expansion into Africa: ready-to-wear, textiles, cosmetics, perfumery, leather goods, fine jewellery and watches.

How long does a project take?

The business opportunity study is delivered in 7 days (D+7). Pop Up Standard runs over 60 days (D+60) and Pop Up Premium over 90 days (D+90).

What is the difference between Pop Up Standard and Pop Up Premium?

Both include event design, site selection, space planning, marketing, staff recruitment, logistics, point-of-sale management, strategic information gathering and an event report. Premium adds a digital wall, export support, stock clearance, selection of a key ambassador and a foreign commercial risk study, and opens the way to partnerships or a joint venture.

Why test an African market before entering it?

Demand for luxury goods in Africa is real but poorly documented: little reliable data and limited field knowledge. A pop-up store provides concrete indicators (sales, brand perception, customer profiles) to validate a deployment strategy before investing in a permanent store.
